GPU-Accelerated Architectural Visualization with Denoising

Full evaluation of a design concept requires the definition of many complex details. However, complex geometric details constrain design flexibility. Think of the value of a complex model defined in a way that both details and basic design elements can be changed in seconds. The new suite of parametric free-form surface and solid shape parameters in the 2020 release of Inspire Studio make it possible to explore and analyze broad ranges of a design space. Altair Inspire has rapidly advanced from a topology optimization tool for designers to a design environment spanning industrial design, structural simulation and optimization, motion analysis and manufacturing simulation.

A short workflow video illustrating the journey of a design idea, from the initial sketches to additive manufacturing, utilizing Altair Inspire Studio and Print3D. The final metal 3D-printing of the pen has been done in collaboration with SLM Solutions.

The presentation will demonstrate case studies performed by Lyulka Desigh Bureau enterprise with the application of Altair HyperWorks software products, such as HyperMesh and HyperView. Strength and optimization analysis carried out with OptiStruct solver for parts of a gas-turbine engine being investigated will be shown. Amphyon software from Altair Partner Alliance was used for simulation of the additive manufacturing process for the parts of an engine, as well for the deformation prediction. The simulation results obtained with Amphyon are compared with the scanned model of the manufactured part to demonstrate results correlation.

Within the course of an architectural project, the meeting of client objectives, site constraints and the architect's ideas gradually shapes the future building.

At the heart of this creative process, a virtual model is used to bring together different elements of the reflection (handmade sketches, CAD drafts, etc.) into a coherent object. This model is refined many times as the project evolves, and is ultimately used as a support to create accurate images of it, at each step of its development.

Based on a set of projects from the Parisian architectural studio DTACC, this presentation will show how the Thea Render software occupies a central place, in both the design process and the communication phase, by allowing fast and precise photo-realistic representations of virtual models.
